SLIDE 1 (HOOK / COVER) ⚡ NEC Quick Hit: Limited-Energy Grounding (Part 1 - Article 750 Basics) ⚡
Just like Article 250 handles line voltage, Article 750 handles grounding. Created to house all grounding and bonding requirements for limited-energy and communication systems in one dedicated place. Let's break down the fundamentals! 👇
SLIDE 2 (SCOPE & RECONDITIONED GEAR BAN) What Does Article 750 Cover?
Unified Grounding: Establishes comprehensive grounding and bonding rules for low-voltage, data, and communications networks.
The Reconditioned Ban: Under Section 750.3, installing reconditioned primary protectors, secondary protectors, antenna lead-in protectors, and antenna discharge units is strictly prohibited.
SLIDE 3 (CONDUCTOR IDENTIFICATION RULES) White & Gray Insulation Exceptions:
Grounded conductors must follow standard Article 200 identification rules.
Exception: Cables without a grounded conductor are permitted to use white/gray insulation for ungrounded conductors (excluding Class 1 power-limited circuits).
SLIDE 4 (WRAP-UP) 💡 Apprentice Pro-Tip:
All low-voltage grounding and bonding devices—including shields, sheaths, and antenna lead-in surge protectors—must be officially listed equipment. Never piece together unlisted grounding hardware!
