SLIDE 1 (HOOK / COVER) ⚡ NEC Quick Hit: Wireless Charging & Bidirectional Power (Part 4) ⚡
Inductive charging pads embedded in concrete and vehicle-to-grid power export—welcome to Part IV of Article 624! Let's finish up self-propelled vehicle power transfer systems. 👇
SLIDE 2 (INTERACTIVE & ISLAND MODE SYSTEMS) Exporting Power & Bidirectional Flow:
Article Links: ESVSE with power export functions acting as optional standby sources must comply with Article 702, while power production sources must comply with Article 705.
Island Mode: ESV power export equipment (ESVPE) is permitted to operate in interconnected island mode upon loss of utility power.
SLIDE 3 (WIRELESS POWER TRANSFER EQUIPMENT - WPTE) Embedded Primary Pads:
Grounding: Primary pad nonferrous base plates must be connected to equipment grounding conductors (unless double-insulated).
Surface Mounting: Primary pads installed in floors must be flush or embedded below the surface (and kept out of snow-removal zones unless manually cleared).
SLIDE 4 (WRAP-UP) 💡 Apprentice Pro-Tip:
Unless specifically listed and marked otherwise, ESVSE couplings must be stored or located at a height of not less than 18 inches above indoor floors or 24 inches above outdoor grades!
