SLIDE 1 (HOOK / COVER)
⚡ NEC Quick Hit: Low-Voltage Power Supplies & Voltages (Part 2) ⚡
25-ampere output limits, 30V/60V thresholds, and wet-contact voltage restrictions—let's check Section 411.4! 👇
SLIDE 2 (POWER SUPPLY & AMPERAGE LIMITATIONS)
Isolating Power Supply Rules:
System Design: Low-voltage lighting systems must consist of an isolating power supply, low-voltage luminaires, and associated equipment identified for the use.
Output Current Cap: The output circuits of the power supply must be rated for 25 amperes maximum under all load conditions.
SLIDE 3 (VOLTAGE LIMITATIONS)
Maximum Operating Voltages:
Standard Locations: Operating voltage shall not exceed 30 volts AC or 60 volts DC.
Wet Contact Locations: Where wet contact is likely to occur, operating voltage is strictly limited to a maximum of 15 volts ac or 30 volts dc.
SLIDE 4 (WRAP-UP) 💡 Apprentice Pro-Tip:
Always verify your transformer output voltage limits before installing low-voltage lighting near damp or wet areas—wet-contact environments drop your maximum allowable voltage down to 15V AC or 30V DC!
